Episode 30: IndyCar Grand Prix of St. Petersburg

The wait is finally over, the IndyCar season is here. St. Petersburg, Florida played host to the first race this year for America’s favorite open wheel racing series. Sure, it may have been messy, but the action was hot this weekend in the Sunshine State.

Ben Hinc of Next Gen Indy and Kyle Brown of Spotter’s Stand sit down with us to discuss the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. The Spotter’s Stand is a blog that Kyle has dedicated to the numeric analysis of IndyCar after reading Money Ball. Next Gen Indy is the place where you can keep up to date on all the relevant IndyCar news, especially from a younger, fresh perspective.

IndyCar’s 2015 maiden voyage gave us a chance to talk about who to watch for in this season. We’re not only talking about drivers, either. Honda vs Chevy, Penske dominance, and Ganassi’s drivers doing avoid our critique as we march right into the new season.

We also announce our second giveaway. We’ll tweet out later tonight with the hashtag #SlipstreamRacerGiveaway. All you have to do is retweet that for a chance to win a year’s subscription to Racer Magazine, the Slipstream Podcast’s favorite periodical. Make sure to visit our homepage as well as keep an eye on the @SlipstreamPOD twitter handle for updates. The giveaway starts as soon as our tweet is published and will last until next Wednesday at 7:00 PM EST. We’ll pick, by random [read with geeky table top dice], a lucky retweeter to win the year’s subscription to Racer Magazine. Check out Racer magazine at www.Racer.comUnfortunately, only our U.S. listeners will be able to enter this contest. You know how shipping rates are.

We hope you enjoy the show. Crack open a brewskie and listen in as we review the Indy Car season opener and discuss what’s to come this year for the series.
