Next Gen Indy’s Ryan Kent Jr was able to catch up with Graham Rahal before today’s ABC Supply 500 at Pocono Raceway.
With a break-out season, Graham’s poised to take the Verizon INDYCAR Series driver’s championship away from Juan Pablo Montoya. He’s got four top 5’s in the last four races. On talking momentum, Rahal says that the wins he’s had this year are great, but with three weeks between the ABC Supply 500 and the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course has the momentum dwindled? He won at Mid-Ohio and is planning to drive a smart, safe race this weekend.
“I think we can get him out in Sonoma. We just need to be smart today.”
On Pocono Raceway, Rahal explains why setup here is so difficult. All three corners are different, requiring teams to compromise the car’s comfort between Turn 1 and Turn 3. Thing’s can go awry very quickly at the aptly named Tricky Triangle.
Today’s broadcast of the ABC Supply 500 starts at 2:00 PM ET on NBC Sports Network. The final round of the 2015 Verizon INDYCAR Series commences next week at Sonoma Raceway.
