SSP 49 – SIN Cars and Racers Edge Motorsports

Aaron and Dusty aren’t quite done sharing all the great conversation that occurred at Petit Le Mans. We sat down with Jon Mirachi, Team Owner/Manager of Racers Edge Motorsports. They most recently fielded two Ford Mustang Boss 302R in IMSA’s Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge. For 2016, the team will field the eye-catching SIN R1 GT4 race car in Pirelli World Challenge’s GTS class. Not only will the team be racing the sharp new machinery, they will be the North American distributor for the race car, support, and eventually the road going vehicle.

The SIN R1 is a new idea for GT4 cars, being a tube space-framed, mid-engined, V8 powered spaceship. The powerful LS3 engine coupled with the light-weight structural rigidity of the R1 is a sure success in America next year.

World Challenge’s GT class is already open to receiving FIA GT4 regulated machinery, a perfect place to showcase the SIN R1. Being the North American face of the brand, Racers Edge is looking to field the car in as many places as they can. Maybe we’ll even see the new car in such open series as Ultimate GT, featured in Slipstream Podcast 44. We’re hoping to see the R1 on as many tracks in North America in 2016 and beyond.

We also welcome Katie Mech to the show and Slipstream Network. Her exploits at sports car races across America are not only entertaining, but show a side to the sport that many of us forget once we wade past knee deep. The floridian has agreed to start a new column, Katie’s Racing Line, on the website to share her experiences with fans across the world. Check out Katie’s Racing Line for more, her first post will be up soon!
