Slipstream Live: K-PAX Racing and Flying Lizard Motorsports from Road America

Slipstream Network’s Dusty Michael sat down with PR representative Kelly Brouillet and Flying Lizard Program Manager, Darren Law, at Road America to discuss the return of a Flying Lizard Motorsports-liveried Porsche 911 to the track. Frequent Porsche Club of America competitor, Andy Wilzoch, worked with the ‘Lizards to field his Porsche 911 GT3 R at Road America in the GTA class of the Pirelli World Challenge Championships.

Competing in PCA, Wilzoch has become familiar with the teams as they have been a large part of his club experience at race tracks across the United States. Road America featured the first pro-level race for Wilzoch, and the first time since 2013 a Flying Lizard-painted Porsche has been in top-level GT racing.

Darren Law’s tenure in sports car racing has been interwoven with the iconic team, even from the start in 2004. Now Program Manager for the team, Law was the perfect person to sit down with and discuss the challenges and triumphs of racing with such an iconic brand. Wilzoch will also be driving the car at Sonoma and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

Law’s long-time experience with the team is now supported by the public relations expertise of Kelly Brouillet. With such an iconic team with a huge fan-base, Brouillet had her work cut out for her as she managed the team’s image through the announcement and at the track. Such a conversation had to be recorded and shared amongst Slipstream Network listeners. Tune in and enjoy this deep cut for many racing fans – it’s the return of the Flying Lizard Porsche to the race track!

As a mechanical engineer, Dusty’s passion is for sports cars and endurance racing. In his opinion, there’s nothing better than a race car closely based on a model that you can go out and buy from the manufacturer showroom. He’s very particular about his writing utensils and appreciates a great, cruelty free pomade.
