The Roar Before the 24 is the annual shakedown for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, the final preparation before the Rolex 24 at Daytona. Slipstream’s Erin Charlton was there and was able to catch up with a number of drivers as they took to the track for testing and practice.
Erin first spoke to Jordan Taylor, driver of the Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac DPi-V.R. He’s teaming up with Max Angelleli, his brother Ricky, and NASCAR legend Jeff Gordon in welcoming back Cadillac to top-tier prototype racing. Taylor discusses the test so far and gives us a glimpse at who Rodney Sandstorm really is.
Erin also sits down with reigning Pirelli World Challenge GTS champion, Brett Sandberg, to discuss his big announcement of joining Change Racing for the Tequila Patron North American Endurance Cup. The endurance season will be a challenge for the Ansa X-Bow driver, but he’s up to the task.
The final guest of this episode is one of the most recognizable veterans of the IMSA paddock – Andrew Davis. Davis will be piloting the No. 57 Audi R8 LMS in the Stevenson Motorsports super-team of Robin Liddell, Lawson Aschenbach, and Matt Bell. Davis also gives us a look at his driver coaching experience as well.
In this episode:
- 00:45 – Jordan Taylor on the Cadillac, Jeff Gordon, and Rodney Sandstorm
- 06:15 – Brett Sandberg on his Change Racing Ride and GTS Championship
